FAQs

No, the bootcamp starts from zero. You'll learn to build real software by directing AI in plain language using Google AI Studio. The Cup rewards problem solving and product thinking, not years of programming experience. A 13 year old and a 20 year old compete on exactly the same terms.

Registration closes Sunday 2 August 2026 at 23:59 PKT, or earlier if the 200 seat cap is reached. The fee is PKR 15,000. Registration is confirmed once payment is received. The fee is non refundable, but your spot can be transferred to another eligible student up to one week before the bootcamp begins.

Yes, the Vibe Coding Cup is individual throughout. The bootcamp and online rounds are done individually, and at the Habib hackathon each of the 20 finalists builds and is scored entirely on their own.

Attendance is not graded. Every session is recorded and posted within 48 hours, so you can catch up at your own pace. The full bootcamp belongs to every paying student regardless of attendance.

Not advancing is completely normal it simply means you did not submit that round's deliverable. You keep all bootcamp recordings, the Discord community, and any credentials you have already earned. We never say "disqualified" for not advancing it is just not moving to the next round.

Only the top 20 finalists attend Habib University. If a finalist genuinely cannot travel to Karachi, they may participate in the live build over video on the same clock and the same rubric by prior arrangement with the organising team.

The four themes for the Habib hackathon are: Learning & Education, Health & Everyday Life, Community & Social Good, and Productivity & Creativity. Themes are revealed on the day finalists choose one on arrival and build live. No pre building against a theme is allowed.

Yes, AI is not just allowed, it is the whole point. You are judged on how well you direct AI to solve a real problem, not on writing code by hand. The only rule: all builds must run on free tier tools (no credit card required). Paid features are prohibited so the competition stays fair for everyone.
