Overview

Our Tech Trailblazers program empowers boys aged 9–14 to take on advanced STEAM challenges with real-world impact. From robotics and AI to creative prototyping and coding, campers explore future-facing tech while developing innovation, independence, and leadership skills — all in a structured, hands-on environment that inspires big ideas.

Program Highlights

Campers build and program the Nimble Bot platform. They’ll learn about electronic circuits by starting with a simple LED Blinking exercise, then program the bot to move and navigate a Maze Challenge. Next comes integrating sensors: using a SONAR sensor to create an Obstacle Avoiding robot. They also integrate a Bluetooth module to enable remote control of their bot via Bluetooth – essentially creating an RC car that they programmed themselves! This progression teaches hardware-software integration, a fundamental concept in robotics.

MAKTAB takes the AI introduction seriously for this age. They discuss real-world AI examples and then do an AI project – “Smart Classroom”, where campers will use a simple AI platform to simulate something like a smart appliance controlling system. For Machine Learning, they build a Chat Bot (text-based interactive program) – possibly using Scratch. Additionally, they have a creative coding project called “Judge A Book” – which could be an AI-inspired activity where they create a game or app that tries to judge a book by its cover image. Another exciting tech-creative project is AR Fruit Ninja, where campers design a simple augmented reality game. These projects introduce cutting-edge tech concepts in an accessible, project-based manner – truly setting this camp apart.

Alongside high-tech, campers do Vision Boards & Mood Collages to map out ideas. They continue Clay Modeling and Cardboard Engineering. This age often results in very imaginative projects when given creative freedom and materials.

A highlight for Tech Trailblazers is working with the DJI Tello drone. Campers get an Introduction to Tello and DroneBlocks, a coding interface for drones. They learn safety and the basics of drone flight, then plan a flight mission. In a supervised setting, they’ll upload their code to the Tello and watch it execute a flight path. This activity is thrilling and teaches programming from a truly different perspective (literally aerial!).

As the eldest group, these campers are encouraged to be team leaders in group tasks, and they often take on more responsibility in collaborative projects. This boosts confidence and sets the stage for future STEM pursuits.

Campers explore meaningful discussions on identity, purpose, and values in the modern world. Topics include Who Am I as a Muslim?, My Role in the Ummah, and What Do I Do Online? – helping children develop responsibility, digital adab, and a strong moral compass rooted in Islam.

With a focus on self-respect, inner strength, and emotional growth, children discuss How Clean is My Heart?, How Do I Handle Pressure?, and How to Set Goals the Islamic Way?. These reflective sessions support the development of confidence, goal-setting habits, and a resilient Islamic worldview.

This camp is designed for boys aged 9 to 14 years, focusing on advanced STEAM projects that challenge their creativity, technical skills, and leadership.

All sessions are conducted at MAKTAB, located in Khayaban-e-Iqbal, DHA Phase 8, Karachi — a secure and tech-friendly learning environment.

There are two batches to choose from:

Batch 2: 1st July to 18th July 2025
